About Production Technology at Ubisoft

From designing our proprietary game engines and state-of-the-art middleware solutions used by our worldwide developer community, to leveraging the latest machine learning breakthroughs in R&D, Production Technology team members don’t just help Ubisoft creators make games: they work together to pioneer innovations that change the way games are made.

As a director, you’ll lead the Production Technology’s Production Efficiency division into the future.

This is a group that aims to always provide the most efficient technology environment possible and brings together leading expertise in areas at the heart of innovation and productivity, such as debug & profiling, innersource, and machine learning.

At the helm of the division, you’ll oversee the evolution of these fields of expertise and the specialists who support them.

You’ll see to the relevance of our entire product catalog for the tech community while ensuring the right processes, methods, and tools are in place to deliver and maintain these solutions.

Plus, you’ll ensure the professional development of your team members - and the sharing of their vital know-how internally.

What you’ll do

  • Define the vision and roadmap for the Production Efficiency division + participate in Ubisoft's community of technology decision-makers to define the challenges of today and tomorrow.
  • Lead the department and ensure the quality, maintainability, and relevance of our product catalog.
  • Drive and implement technological innovations and continuous improvements aligned with market and production realities, both in terms of development and definition of technological solutions.
  • Develop the expertise of your team members on internal and external technological solutions + position your team as a reference in their fields within Ubisoft.
  • Collaborate with various productions and stakeholders within the company to ensure that planned projects remain relevant and that the team is well equipped for success.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams, particularly IT, engine development groups, and La Forge, our R&D department.
  • Define the organizational structure and determine the team's resource and business needs.
  • Coach and mentor your team members + establish hiring plans, ensuring the right skills and expertise are identified to maximize efficiency.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the department's results and progress to HQ and our various studios.

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Around 10 years of experience in a management position related to B2B software (or other relevant experience)
  • The ability to develop a strategic vision and to anticipate future needs
  • An inclusive, influential, and inspiring leadership style that allows you to engage and mobilize stakeholders from different backgrounds
  • In-depth knowledge of the market and the video game industry
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English
  • A degree in management, administration, or computer science (or related training)
  • Flexibility to adapt to change and manage interdependencies
  • A collaborative and results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to reinforce participation within a distributed team (Production Efficiency members are mostly in Quebec, but also spread out in other studios around the world)
