Job Title: Development tester

**Note**: Final Designation/Level will be decided based on the relevant experience and interview ratings.

As a development tester, you play a very important role in production of the game; you are the first gatekeeper of the quality. You work within the production team and test under development versions and features. You have to ensure that the features developed are robust and meet the design requirements. You are also responsible for stability of code base and versions.

Job Description

  • Taking care of testing and controlling the final quality of all the services that become available with the game upon launch (seasonal events, offers, support ).
  • Ensure the quality of the game update cycle with dedication and precision.
  • Build efficient QC processes between the Live Operation team, the External Studio and Ubisoft QC teams.
  • Reporting issues encountered with a standard format that can be easily identified and reproduced according to project guidelines.
  • Create and execute test cases while validating new content, features and bug fixes before those changes are submitted.
  • Isolate and reproduce the bugs to assess Severity and probability based on Ubisoft’ s standards, and suggest solutions. Also, constantly communicate issues encountered to team members and developers.
  • Supporting the development team with assigning, tracking and verifying the issues for your task force or discipline
  • Fully understand the design of the game and the features that are assigned to you.
  • Have basic knowledge of technical and artistic pipeline and processes including but not limited to Perforce, Version Creation, Code Compilation, Shelved CLs, Build Creation, data requirements etc.
  • Have full understanding of production timeline and milestones and their requirements. Adapt the dev test needs accordingly.
  • Closely monitor Jira and refactor it from time to time by removing redundant issues, marking duplicate bugs, ensuring the proper priority is assigned.
  • Closely coordinate with different QC teams (functionality, compliance, special tests) and be the communication link between production teams and
  • Send regular reports to project management team and highlight any potential risks in advance.

Additional Responsibility:

  • Compiling and work proactive with reports, issues and the progress of the testing area.
  • Communicate all the Design changes, implementations, etc. on a regular basis to various testing teams involved.
  • Help manage and forecast the hardware needs for the Production teams.
  • Determine test needs with development teams, Associate Producers and Production Coordinators. Work closely with the leads for defining the Build Release procedures, Milestone plans, Project Test plans, etc. and also ensuring their execution.
  • Support the development, production teams according to specific requests.
  • Manage and handle Builds review meetings, Playtests etc. for the project.
  • Keep track of Agile and send regular Sprint Update reports to Stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • College Diploma/Degree in computer science, video game development or equivalent training.
  • Good to have knowledge of Guitar & Music.
  • You have a basic understanding of game engines and 3D modelling.
  • Having an eye for details and ability to detect bugs or technical issues.
  • You have a strong methodology and creativity.
  • You are expected to provide feedbacks in order to improve
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should be very good in documentation.
  • Ability to lean and adapt to different technologies and pipelines quickly.
  • Basic technical proficiency and knowledge of coding and scripting is preferred.

Other Skills:

  • Good organization skills.
  • Having an eye for details and ability to detect bugs.
  • Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Ability to tell a story through composition and mood
  • Considerable understanding of video games and broad video game culture.
  • Basic technical proficiency and knowledge of coding and scripting is preferred.
