Job Description

(This is a 6-month contract and there is a possibility of extension.)

As a Copy Editor for Ubisoft’s Creative Services department, you will ensure that millions of players will view trailers, press releases, and packaging cleanly edited with the latest branding, legal, trademarking, and ESRB information.

This position will be hired through a third-party payroll provider, and you will not be a direct Ubisoft employee

What you’ll do:

  • Proofread and copyedit all print and online materials for the San Francisco office’s Marketing Department, including packaging, promotional items, print ads, and video and web content.
  • Become familiar with Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft requirements and work with their representatives to secure approvals.
  • Ensure that copy fits brand tone but is also accessible for most consumers.
  • Revise French text into Quebec French and do small last-minute French translations (from English).
  • Review French translations for grammar, content, and consistency, and do small English-to-French translations, while helping to ensure that copy fits the required Brand tone.
  • Work with language specialists and manage internal translation requests with Canadian, Mexican, and Brazilian territories.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • A positive attitude professional proofreading/copyediting experience.
  • Strong organizational, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently on multiple products, in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to adhere to workflow processes, and to help evolve internal processes.
  • Highly organized in both a team and independent environment.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Bilingual
