Job Description

Ubisoft, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Associate Director, Esports to join our award-winning marketing organization.

Ubisoft has established a portfolio of powerful gaming brands and is recognized as the industry leader in introducing new entertainment IP’s; and the Associate Director, Esports is responsible for generating and amplifying our esports strategies across NCSA (North, Central, and South America). Focusing heavily on data-backed strategies and a consumer-first mentality, the Associate Director will be key in propelling Ubisoft into a leadership position for esports globally.

The Associate Director, Esports will be responsible for all operational and logistical planning as well as being a key stakeholder in the strategic vision for esports across NCSA. This role will orchestrate program logistics, operations, and strategies for business planning as well as league and program design for competitive play of all shapes and sizes. The role requires deep esports experience and keen consumer knowledge that balances both business goals and player expectations. This person will take a leading role in further developing all Ubisoft esports programs as well as managing partner and ecosystem relations. Developing and executing esports strategies is both a science and an art, and the ideal candidate understands how to navigate both in order to achieve amazing results.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Development of esports programs for North and South America with a focus on best-practices, insights and consumer expectations
  • Manage all logistics and operations from each program across the North American esports portfolio (including rulesets, structure and tournament integrity)
  • Manage the tournament operator relationship to ensure flawless execution of each mandate
  • Manage and develop all live events related to esports programs
  • Manage all team and player relationships with regards to program logistics
  • Collaborate with European and Latin American regions to ensure a global vision to all esports program mandates
  • Work with video game production teams to ensure our games and well suited to our esports programs and vice versa
  • Ensure all programs are diverse and offer elements of inclusion for all manner of players
  • Clearly communicate on all programs / logistics to ensure the internal esports team is well informed on directions, plans and changes to the programs
  • Oversee the tournament operations teams utilizing their employee management experience
  • Collaborate with our community manager to instill best practices in both player and viewer experiences
  • Report on all metrics related to programs to ensure adherence to Key performance indicators

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of esports management experience
  • Exhibits excellent judgement in business and player-centric matters
  • Embraces excellent communication skills (often among a global team of professionals)
  • Hires team members and develops and inspires them to excel
  • High standards for team and individual work
  • Can blend creative strategies with data analysis of the esports landscape
  • Demonstrates a high level of organization in a fast-paced environment
