The VP, Business Development is responsible for leading the strategic direction for the business development team. You will have a track record of both successfully leading large teams to deliver results against large goals and will have premier partnership experience.
As the VP - Business Development, you will be a crucial component of the TXG team, you will be an integral part of creating first-to-market partnerships. The business development team strives to blend insights and data to achieve solutions that unlock value for our partners. This person will be responsible for leading the business development team and bringing in new partnerships for our talent.
You must have a proven track-record and a deep network in the gaming and/or esports industries. You should have a real passion for gaming, digital entertainment, YouTube, Twitch and the world of social media.
You should be a fast-mover and self-starter. You know how to innovate in a dynamic industry where getting there first matters. You are also a leader who builds systems and best practices, creates efficiencies, solves problems, and can work with a wide range of personality types across a large organization. Responsibilities
- Build and execute growth plans for the Business Development vertical and team
- Lead the team that brings partnership opportunities to our talent team
- Develop a framework for how TXG identifies, prioritizes, evaluates and pursues potential clients and retains existing client relationships
- Manage business development for Gaming & Lifestyle clients to ensure that we build, manage, and progress a robust pipeline of new top-tier partnership opportunities
- Hire, train, coach, grow and inspire the team and top performers, giving individuals opportunities to level up, and grow within TXG and increase employee retention
- Work and collaborate with a diverse group of teams across both TalentX and TXG.
- Be an internal advocate for our clients, and proactively resolve business issues for them
- Seek out and secure new revenue streams, and brand partnership for our talent
- Build and manage deep relationships within the digital media world
- Outline and oversee measurement, tracking, and results against team OKRs to guide the evolution of our campaign trackers and the business development team.
- Build, develop, and communicate, and update tiered talent rate cards
- Oversee our talent vetting process to ensure brand safety and brand relevance
Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in the gaming industry focused on business development,brand building, or other areas of the industry directly relevant to this role
- 5+ years managing large, complex teams including Sr. Manager and Director level employees
- A proven track-record of strong team leadership and delivering results
- Expertise and interest in the YouTube, Twitch and social media space
- Detail-oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and go above and beyond
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to think outside of the box and be solutions-oriented.
- Enjoys working in a high performing environment.
- Have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding expectations to support and fulfill the strategic objectives of a highly cross-functional organization
