About the Role

The Video Operations team at Twitch manages the bare metal underlying one of the largest live video CDN's. You will be part of a team that helps keep the heart and soul of Twitch humming smoothly 24x7. We obsess about delivering high quality, low latency, live video from broadcasters around the world to millions of viewers. You will be presented with unique but engaging challenges associated with our mission and build passion for the technical growth opportunities our scale and real-time nature provides. Your experience will directly help level up Twitch's operational capabilities through a deep technical understanding of Linux-based systems, software development workflows, and your ability to help build tooling and automation to reduce operational toil.

You Will:

  • Improve quality of monitoring and reduction of operational overhead
  • Periodically embed and work with Software Engineering teams to improve their services' operational bar.
  • Participate in technical architecture review around operations
  • Develop tooling and automation around operational tasks
  • Assess and respond to operational issues
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation

You Have:

  • Must be customer-focused
  • Requires an ability to perform while working collaboratively with partners to ensure success
  • 3 or more years experience in a technical operations role
  • Requires an understanding of Linux systems
  • Requires an understanding of bare metal servers.
  • Requires an understanding of Networks and Networking
  • Requires programming/scripting experience

The base pay range for this position in Colorado, Connecticut and Washington is $152,100 - $185,900 yr and in New York City is $167,310 - $204,490 yr. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
