About the Role

The Global Infrastructure (GI) Team at Twitch is looking for a Technical Programme Manager. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Services, you will be directly involved in planning and driving execution of projects and major projects that use technology to create an amazing live streaming experience. You'll organise, driving and tracking projects such as Infrastructure expansion and upgrades, network backbone circuit growth, space & power contract status, hardware evaluation projects, Data Center and PoP builds and many other infrastructure-related items.

You will have proven programme management background, will have demonstrated experience leading simultaneous medium to large projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current software, network, data centre and/or hardware disciplines. You will be asked to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you can identify business and operational needs, develop a vision for addressing, communicate and gain management buy in, and then shape the resulting initiatives, where needed also roll up your sleeves, dig in, and get the job done.

You Will:

  • Work with infrastructure and operations leadership and software development managers to identify gaps and solutions
  • Initiate and manage infrastructure projects around the world
  • Drive execution of major and minor infrastructure and data centre projects
  • Plan and lead major maintenances and infrastructure upgrades
  • Create weekly, monthly and other reports as requested
  • Support other Global Infrastructure TPMs
  • Develop and document processes
  • Be the source of truth and best practices for wider team

You Have:

  • Ensure data-driven approach and a willingness to experiment to decide
  • 7+ years of experience in technical project management, or similar technical leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with datacenter projects, data centre operations or points of presence
  • Knowledge or experience in Systems or Network Engineering
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and internet infrastructure
  • PRINCE2 or PMP Certification
  • Ensure data-driven approach and a willingness to experiment to decide
  • Sense of humor

Bonus Points

  • Comfort and experience with cross-organisational communication; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • CCNA/CCNP or similar
  • ITIL certification
  • Experience working independently to design, and execute technical projects; able to distil data and articulate rationale for making difficult trade-offs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical programme management and engineering best practices
