About the Role:

The Identity team develops and operates multiple services that allows users to connect securely and manage their identities on Twitch. Our authentication and authorization flows follow the OAuth and OIDC standards to provide Twitch users with the most frictionless possible experience.

As a software engineer on the Identity team, you will help develop, maintain and innovate around our login and signup experience while working with our Browser clients team, our mobile team and our security team to deliver great experience and content to our streamers and viewers communities. Using Go and Python, you will build tools which are reliable and scale. You will shape the work of your peers, and report to the Engineering Manager for Identity.

We are open to you working from San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; Seattle, WA or Toronto, ON.

You Will:

  • Work effectively with our internal engineering teams to create log-in and signup client experiences
  • Develop an expertise with OAuth and OIDC standards, including Captcha and challenges
  • Become familiar with the existing Twitch stack written in modern Go and develop expertise on AWS technology stack
  • Contribute to architectural, design, and process discussions involving the technological choices involved in building Twitch's browser-based clients
  • You will identify and uphold a high bar for our engineering best practices
  • Work with a wide spectrum of stakeholders including data analytics, privacy, legal and product infrastructure to define best practices and solutions

You Have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, a related Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience working on large-scale Python, Go or java applications
  • Experience working on a product-focused engineering team
  • Experience working with distributed, highly available systems

Bonus Points:

  • You've worked with Amazon Web Services.
  • A foundational understanding of OAuth, OpenID Connect
