About the Role

Amazon Interactive Video Service (IVS) is an end-to-end, managed, live video streaming solution, built on the same technology that powers Twitch. It is quick and easy to set up, and enables customers to send live streams to viewers across the world. IVS technology allows companies like GoPro, Blackboard, and Payna, to build a low-latency live video experience–just like Twitch.

The IVS Core team bridges the gap between the IVS team and the AWS team. As a member of the team, you will own and operate on the customer-facing aspects of the IVS system, including APIs, vended Cloudwatch metrics, and the data pipeline that powers the billing system. Because we specialize in cross-functional projects that involve many teams, we are looking for candidates who prefer strong ownership, empowerment, and collaboration.

You Will:

  • Design, develop, launch, and operate new backend services and features on AWS infrastructure
  • Collaborate with several engineering and product teams across both AWS and Twitch to deliver end-to-end features
  • Work backwards from the customer perspective to build delightful experiences
  • Participate in product and technical design reviews to refine requirements and assess trade-offs
  • Promote software development best practices and engineering excellence across teams
  • Influence the team’s architecture and software development best practices
  • Support the team in operating and improving its critical customer-facing systems

You Have:

  • Passion for building technical solutions for ambiguous problems
  • Strong ownership and accountability for your work, making active improvements even when outside of one’s area of responsibility
  • Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle
  • Degree in Computer Science, a related Engineering discipline, or 3+ years equivalent experience

Perks

  • Medical, Dental, Vision & Disability Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Maternity & Parental Leave
  • Flexible PTO
  • Commuter Benefits
  • Amazon Employee Discount
  • Monthly Contribution & Discounts for Wellness Related Activities & Programs (e.g., gym memberships, off-site massages, etc.)

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at Twitch. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
