About the Role:

We are looking for a manager who will report to our VP of UX Design and help our small team of spectacular design systems UX designers continue to have a substantial impact on our customer experience and organization. The team is proficient, caring and thoughtful. They manage the system that single-handedly allowed us to redesign our entire application in a matter of months. They develop guidelines, iterating on existing patterns and components, maintaining libraries in Figma, and training the entire UX department on how to use these tools in their work. If you are excited about how to magnify design, and want to work with the most supportive team you can find, this is the role for you. Our UX organization is mostly on the west coast but we are distributed throughout the United States and Europe and we are open to remote candidates for this position.

You Will:

  • Create an open and welcoming culture within and around your team
  • Identify the strengths of your team members and create opportunities for them to improve the design system
  • Consult with partners across design and engineering to prioritize the teams' efforts
  • Advocate for resources to ensure your team can achieve their goals
  • Contribute to and help construct and implement a mission for the design system
  • Create programs to educate designers on the usage of tools to help them implement their designs
  • Organize regular planning meetings to maintain team productivity
  • Lead recruiting efforts to create a well balanced and supportive team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a UX designer
  • Command of the design process and how to improve a solution
  • Led teams of designers to tackle ambiguous problems
  • Identified areas for self-improvement and challenged yourself to grow
  • Proficiency with common design tools such as Figma and Sketch
  • Collaborated with engineers to develop new ideas and implement solutions
  • Contributed to the development of a research agenda to inform a long-term product roadmap
  • Mentored or managed other designers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Big plus if you have:

  • Built or managed a design systems team
  • 2+ years of design management experience
  • Front-end development experience with React

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $120,000 - 200,000 yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
