Turtle Rock Studios is looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. This role will play an integral part of the studio's growth and will help plan and build out the current and future Technology solutions in the studio. This person will be able to effectively work and communicate with in the team to gain consensus and should be able to prioritize based on the businesses ability to build better games faster and more efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively in delivery/product planning and execution at team meetings representing Infrastructure Solutions & Engineering
  • Solutioning, setup and deployment including both hardware and software.
  • Configuration, deployment, support, troubleshooting of infrastructure solutions and services including, but not limited to:
    • Redhat Linux or other distribution
    • Windows Server
    • Containers / Storage (NetApp, Pure…etc)
    • Hypervisor VMWare ESXi and vSphere
    • Configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, SCCM, SOAP etc)
    • Deployment and support of solutions in the cloud (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Participate in on-call rotational third level mission critical support.
  • Aid in development and review of training materials for new and existing technology
  • Update processes and design new process as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve.
  • Technical vision, adhering to maintenance and performance standards of data, voice or video network hardware and systems. Solicits and builds consensus among stakeholders to clarify that vision.
  • Troubleshoot, research and analyze significant complex network problems that can require evaluation of intangibles.
  • Provide expert technical support and guidance on highly complex design issues.
  • Provide direction and strategy for future direction. Key partner for product development, game programming, operations and ops support, security and risk team, procurement and facilities to ensure codependences are properly managed.
  • Consult, support and guide supported organizations as well as providing technical leadership across the various IT teams.
  • Perform cost analyses and vendor comparisons for large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient design and evaluates feasibility of various approaches. Ensures adherence to model created and overall budgetary guidelines.

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Related Juniper JNCP or Cisco Certifications required, active CCNP or Equivalent knowledge preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience with back-end infrastructure technologies in both a design/engineering and operational capacities.
  • Datacenter operations experience – build/maintain rack, cable, power, High Availability options, capacity planning and forecasting, disaster recovery/business continuity and architectures.
  • Ability to implement critical solutions real-time.
  • Firewall setup and configuration (FortiGate, Palo Alto, or SonicWall etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of security and auditing procedures and compliancy
  • Able to Architect, setup and maintain new VMWare environments.
  • Layer 2 switching technologies (STP, port-channels, layer 2 loop prevention
  • Switching/wireless setup, configuration and management (Cisco Catalyst, Meraki, etc.)
  • Must have excellent high-level knowledge of LAN networking and troubleshooting.
  • Experience configuring EIGRP, OSPF and BGP on either Cisco and Juniper network devices in a large and complex network environment.
  • Experience with Datacenter Switching (Cisco Nexus or Juniper EX Series)
  • VMWare Certified Professional and vSphere Certification or equivalent knowledge.
  • Experience structuring perimeter controls and VLAN structure to increase security stance.
  • Experience with IPsec based VPN Technologies.
  • Experience managing storage solutions.

Preferences

  • Prior experience working in a games studio is desired.
  • Experience utilizing scripting languages like Bash and Python.
  • Experience working with open-source technologies as needed.
  • IT systems, architectures, and nomenclature
  • Experience with MPLS is desired.
  • Technical writing discipline
  • High degree of experience with engineering and implementing complex LAN/WAN/Internet datacenter and cloud network environments.
  • Project management methodologies and techniques
  • Experience setting up and managing Fortinet Firewall controls with intrusion logging and monitoring preferred.
  • Experience with Juniper or Cisco Networking equipment in an enterprise environment.
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP Protocol Stack
  • Deep understanding of QoS Design and Implementation
  • Deep understanding of Network Monitoring Platform Management and Configuration
  • Experience with 802.11 wireless technologies.
  • Understanding of Remote Network Access Technologies
  • Deep understanding and past or present experience configuring and troubleshooting with OSPF, EIGRP & BGP Routing Protocols
  • Experience with at least one or more Network Security Devices (For example FortiGate Cisco FTD, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto or Panorama)
  • Deep understanding of Layer 2 Switching Products / Technology
