Turn 10 Studios has an exciting opportunity to work alongside the team responsible for the top-selling and critically acclaimed Forza Motorsport franchise. As an Art Development Director, you’ll be responsible for helping Turn 10 build up a highly functional art organization, managing a team of senior artists and providing mentoring and career guidance to the Motorsport art team.
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for great deliveries from your teams and artists toward successfully shipping Steelhead. Their success is your success; their failures are also reflected on you.
- Manage a team of artists - driving career growth, mentorship opportunities, broadening of skills, and helping artists understand a path to make meaningful career and level progression at Microsoft and Turn 10.
- Cultivate art team culture, especially in identifying the ideal skillsets and mindsets for team members, helping artists to feel a sense of belonging at Turn 10
- As a member of the art leadership team, work with other art leads to continue building up a strong art team by partnering on staffing plans, identifying required skills/resource needs, and hiring new talent
- Identify and coordinate opportunities to communicate and promote art team successes (visual and process) both within the art team and within Turn 10, especially to senior leadership
- Identify and formalize best practices with the art discipline leads for art reviews, milestone approvals, sharing, meeting cadence etc.
- Identify and execute opportunities to showcase Turn 10 art team excellence externally
- Communicate regularly with content leadership and area team leads to identify and fix potential communication gaps or issues involving art departments
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Background in Management, Computer Science, 3D Art/Graphic Design, or similar
- 5+ years leading or managing a team of artists
- Excellent communication skills, especially for providing feedback in a constructive and clear manner
- Strong background in collaboration with different functions in game development
