What you will do:

  • Help build an entirely new game development team, that will create fully interactive new worlds from scratch A unique opportunity to contribute to the largest AAA space sim game ever. The only limit is your imagination. Day to day, you will work closely with designers in creating high-poly modular environments of the intergalactic video game Star Citizen, a record-shattering crowd-funded video game that combines classic space sim gameplay with amazing visuals.

You have accomplished / possess:

  • 10 years+ of experience creating unparalleled artwork for games and/or film
  • 5 years+ of experience as a lead artist or art director
  • Expertise in following and maintaining a cohesive art style across all stages of art production
  • Experience with both 2D and 3D art pipelines
  • Ability to create and optimize art pipelines and workflows, particularly in conjunction with technical artists
  • Multiple shipped AAA titles
  • Strong knowledge of UI and UX
  • Expertise with Lumberyard or similar (UE4/Unity); an asset
  • Experience developing high-fidelity CG artwork for the film industry; an asset
  • Experience directing cinematics, mocap, and CG artwork for commercials; an asset

You will be in charge of:

  • Participating in the creation of a whole new planet and its own attributes within the Star Citizen project
  • Developing new approaches to art that push the visual fidelity of the Star Citizen universe
  • Providing visual solutions to problems while working in collaboration with other members of the game team, including artists, designers, and engineers
  • Driving the art team by inspiring artwork and examples
  • Partnering with stakeholders to own and define assigned aspects of the project as directed
  • Working directly with production to ensure that schedules and plans meet business and project needs
  • Leading the team to achieve a unified art vision and deliver established goals
  • Collaborating cross-discipline to ensure art appropriately enhances the player experience
  • Mentoring and managing members of the Art Team, helping them to refine their skills and move along their career paths
  • Reviewing and approving assets to ensure that quality standards are met, and visual consistency is maintained
  • Holding the team and yourself to the highest level of quality standards
  • Building a new team from the ground up
