Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the codebase of potential published titles, and the technical capabilities of these potential partners to identify risks and confirm the partner’s capabilities to deliver on their vision
  • Provide mentoring and guidance on engineering best practices to partner engineering teams with a goal of growing the capabilities and expertise of these partners
  • Oversee the ongoing evaluation of the performance status of partner titles and clearly communicate this information to Tripwire Presents leadership and to partners, providing guidance to partners on areas for optimization to hit performance targets
  • Monitor the technical development of partner titles identifying risk and providing guidance on solutions and risk mitigation
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and middleware to support the needs of the partner studios and their projects
  • Work with internal development engineering team to develop technical requirements for backend and engine systems which can be utilized by published partner studios to accelerate, enhance and support their titles
  • Support published partners with guidance on implementing both external middleware and internally developed technology, as well as getting feedback from partners on implemented technologies
  • Coordinate with external outsource and porting partners managing the relationship to ensure they are delivering to meet the needs of Tripwire Presents and our published partners
  • As the publishing team grows, oversee the hiring of technical publishing staff including participating in resume reviews, technical screens, and active recruiting, and then mentoring and growing those staff once they are hired

The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below:

  • BS (or higher) in Computer Science or similar discipline
  • Minimum 5 years game industry experience with 1+ shipped titles
  • Excellent C++ programming and systems design skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an emphasis on debugging C++ code.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge in a broad range of software engineering areas with a mastery in at least one area (AI, graphics, networking, physics, etc).
  • Analytical skills geared towards the measurement of system performance, memory use etc, plus the communication skills needed to recommend solutions
  • Ability to collaborate positively with other departments within the Tripwire team and with external publishing partners
  • Recent console development experience with “last gen” consoles (PS4 and XB1)

Preference to applicants with:

  • A passion for video games
  • 7+ years industry experience
  • Significant Unreal Engine 4 experience
  • Experience as a Lead Programmer or above
  • Experience using graphics APIs such as DirectX or Vulkan
  • Console development experience with (PS5, Series X, Switch)
