Are you passionate about using your art and design skills to solve complex problems? Do you love video games? If this sounds like you, Treyarch is looking for passionate UI/UX Interns to take on these challenges in working on one of the largest franchises in gaming with Call of Duty! Join our team in sunny Playa Vista, CA for our summer internship program!

As an Art, Design, or UX Intern in our UI/UX department, you will partner with mentors in your chose area of interest who have years of industry experience and work on a variety of projects in a collaborative development setting. You will apply your design sensibilities by communicating complex information across a variety of human-software interactions. On the technical side, you will learn our implementation pipeline through real UI feature assignments. You will hone your artistic skills creating motion graphics, layouts and iconography. This is an excellent opportunity to get an intimate understanding of this exciting industry.

What you’ll do across UI/UX…

  • Work with a mentor to level up your design skills for the purpose of creating UI elements. Learn implementation best practices bringing your work to life in our game engine

  • Collaborate on the design of new UI features, building intuitive interfaces with aesthetic appeal

  • Develop wireframes, user-flow diagrams, prototypes and concepts for team discussion and testing purposes

  • Script UI interactions and prototype new experiences

  • Attend the daily standup meeting as part of our team of artists and designers. Experience the typical day-to-day tasks and ask questions

  • Create high-quality designs that meet the standard and visual expectations of a AAA title

  • Upon completion of the program, UI/UX interns will have a better understanding of the industry requirements and the experience needed to kick start a career in video games

What you’ll do within your chosen UI/UX field of interest…

  • UI Artists will specifically focus on creating iconography, framing elements, typography, layouts, art comps, and implementing assets in engine

  • UI Designers will specifically focus on creating prototypes, UI components or features, and work within our Lua codebase in writing extensible scripts that works in engine

  • UX Designers will specifically focus on creating wireframes, User Flow Diagrams, Lo-fi prototyping, design specs, and work with other team members to translate systems and gameplay goals into UI that enhances the game

To succeed you should have…

  • A positive personality and a passion for all aspects of UI and UX

  • Some experience in graphic design, web design, scripting (Lua/C#) or interactive media

  • Strong organization and communication skills

Note: A portfolio submission is required for this position. Please focus this portfolio on personal contributions to your projects and include a shot breakdown specifying what you were directly responsible for creating.

Covid-19 Hiring Update: We expect to be back in office for our summer 2023 internship and successful candidates will be expected to relocate and be onsite in Los Angeles for the duration of it. Treyarch will cover relocation services and will provide a living stipend to supplement housing, utility, and office supply costs.
