Hello everyone,
For 17 months I have been developing Cradle of Chaos: a multiplayer strategy game set in a fantasy environment.
I am now working with a music/SFX professional with 10y+ experience and we are looking for an artist to help create a truly unique Fantasy world.
You should be comfortable working with Unity and ideally have knowledge of several areas among the following:
- prior Fantasy work (the graphical style of the game is somewhere between a handpainted Warcraft style and a more modern MOBA style)
- 2D art (concept art, concept art and/or unit icons, UI-related stuff)
- 3D art (modelling in your preferred software but with an understanding of how to make it work with Unity preferably)
- VFX
Timetable
The game will be released in the second half of 2022. The idea would be to release it in Early Access on the Epic Games Store by the beginning of 2022 in a barebone alpha version.
Perspectives for team members
Freelance or potentially full-time depending on candidate profile and preferences. There can be some flexibility on how you contribute to the project, with potential equity on offer in TORIX Games for someone with truly exceptional skills.
Tech stack related to the artistic work
- Unity 2020 with Universal Render Pipeline
- Unity Terrain used with MicroSplat shaders
- Animations are processed with Vertex Animation Textures but we have created a tool to convert standard mecanim animations to Vertex so no change in artist workflow there. We're planning on continuing to use Mixamo mainly for animations
