Position Summary: Director of Technical Operations

  • Full time, 100% remote.
  • Lead the technology team(s) providing DevOps and LiveOps platform services to TLM developers, partners and customers
  • This person will work with leadership to define and evolve a strategy to meet operational excellence and scalability goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal departments and appropriate external vendors ensuring deployment activities are carried out according to highest industry standards.
  • Plan, assign and direct the activities of professional and technical personnel involved in the support of DevOps, Proactive Application Monitoring, and Systems Incident Management.
  • Work with stakeholders and partners on a strategic vision for a team that can merge live games as a service, expansion features, and content to continually enhance the user experience.
  • Work with stakeholders and partners to identify and improve on the interfaces between teams.
  • Build, lead, and mentor TLM’s LiveOps and DevOps team providing global coverage.
  • Manage contracted LiveOps and DevOps services to ensure performance compliance.
  • Participate in design and development of operational infrastructure to support a development pipeline, automating where possible.
  • Provide troubleshooting and timely resolution of system, automation, and infrastructure problems.
  • Provide operational support for developers.
  • Provide technical guidance to the organization.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams including participation in code reviews.
  • Participate in IT management duties such as budget and financial activities; process standards, improvement, and monitoring; program and project management; and strategic planning.
  • Participate with other departments providing development, documentation, influence strategy and overall direction for online games technology through your contributions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience with Software Operations involving Windows, Linux and AWS.
  • 5+ years experience leading teams.
  • 1+ shipped AAA console or PC titles(s).
  • Ability to design and implement high availability solutions.
  • Ability to script with a variety of languages for automating tasks, generating reports, and creating tools
  • Understanding of computer architecture and memory systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with online game platforms and development best practices and processes.
  • Proven ability to work with development teams.
  • Great with lateral thinking and motivation to work independently, as well as the ability to work directly with teams across multiple territories and time zones.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, from the beginning of a project through completion.
  • Dedication, teamwork, and professionalism.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Unreal Engine online ecosystem experience.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with common online game platform tools, services, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with current console SDKs, Steam, and Epic Game Store.
