Position Summary: Development Director

We are looking for an experienced Development Director who is passionate about both process and gaming, to provide daily production leadership to the project and its teams.

  • Full time, 100% remote (from anywhere in the world).
  • You will report to a Senior Development Director on one of our games.
  • You will manage project and resource planning, balance scope with capacity, track progress, implement and improve processes, mentor people, and manage risks and mitigation.
  • You have experience with content pipelines and feature development.
  • You understand the iterative nature of creative processes and how to empower them.
  • You have experience working with external vendors.
  • You are a force multiplier for the team.

Qualifications:

  • You are passionate about managing creative teams.
  • You have 3+ years of experience working in AAA game development, and you have released 1 or more games while seeing them through all phases of the development life cycle.
  • You have experience managing internal and external teams; you have proven conflict resolution tools in your tool belt.
  • You are comfortable talking across all levels of an organization; you always know the status of your team(s) and can visualize that status for any audience.
  • You have a strong understanding of the complexities and requirements of game production and how to manage them.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish direction & strategy for one or more teams within a project while ensuring alignment with internal & external leadership.
  • Monitor & adjust capacity plans for your team(s) to address skill gaps and identify funding needs.
  • Be the point of escalation for conflict management and problem solving for your team(s).
  • Partner with junior Development Directors to train them and provide mentorship.
  • Help Establish and maintain team health standards through team leaders.
  • Help Identify and implement process improvement initiatives across a project.
  • Anticipate and solve project-wide dependencies between your team(s) and external groups.
