Job Title: Technical Project Manager

Job Summary: This role contributes to The Pokémon Company International’s success by managing highly technical Information Security projects that reduce risk to our brand by securing Pokémon’s digital footprint. This role partners with key stakeholders across the business to deliver projects and may also serve as Scrum Master for the project delivery team(s). Additionally, this role actively generates process improvements, provides structure, and establishes procedures and tools to increase efficiency and transparency for the Technical Program Management Office.

What you’ll do

  • Champions and drives Hybrid Project Management which blends traditional and adaptive (Agile) project management practices
  • Plans, collaborates and prioritizes work to meet commitments and align with organizational goals
  • Drives projects forward, continuously tracking and reporting progress against the project schedule
  • Leads stakeholders through the initiation and discovery processes to ensure all parties align on project objectives, scope, definition of done, etc.; ensures requirements and dependencies are identified and documented
  • Develops the project plan including development/implementation approach, work breakdown structure, and schedule
  • Facilitates project meetings, technical deep dives, cross-functional workshops, stakeholder engagement sessions and project reviews
  • Keeps stakeholders informed through development and delivery of accurate, timely and valuable project communications; tailors messaging to a variety of target audiences
  • Coordinates and balances requirements, resources, dependencies, dates, deployment plans and more across multiple internal and external teams, leveraging techniques from both Agile and traditional project management methodologies
  • Generates buy-in, commitments and other forms of project support amid competing priorities
  • Analyzes data to understand issues and take corrective actions, including escalations, when needed
  • Develops and implements communication plans and other Organizational Change Management tools throughout the project lifecycle
  • As Scrum Master, practices servant leadership to support the delivery team’s self-organization, effectiveness and efficiency; leads daily scrum, sprint planning, retrospectives and other Scrum ceremonies
  • Serves as a resource for hybrid project management methodologies and best practices
  • Contributes to TPMO processes, standardization and best practices

What you’ll bring

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of professional experience in formal project and/or program management roles that include leading large, cross-functional projects
    • Project management experience in technical settings (e.g., software development, information technology, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Strong foundational knowledge of traditional (Waterfall) project management and various Agile delivery methods (e.g., Kanban, Scrum, Lean)
    • Direct experience managing projects in hybrid environments strongly preferred
    • PMP certification preferred, but not required
  • 3-4 years' working directly with technical teams; knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC), web technologies, software implementations
    • Experience leading information security initiatives strongly preferred
  • Experience creating status reports, project plans, dashboards, road maps and other reporting for the executive level; demonstrated ability to tailor messaging to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master for development teams
    • Certified Scrum Master is desirable, but not required
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint preferred
  • Organizational change management experience preferred
