Get to know the role

Job Title: Product Manager

The Pokémon Center Merchandise Development (2D) team is divided into seasonal/home goods, apparel, and accessories. This role will assist their manager in building out the apparel lines for Pokémon Center. They will work closely with their manager and other team members to align product direction and strategies for apparel and some soft goods. They will help drive product development by working with their team, cross-functional teams, and staying on schedule. The ideal candidate will have a merchandise development background and demonstrate experience with small to medium-sized product categories. They will have a history of pitching product lines with varying levels of stakeholder audiences. Experience in working with a pop culture or entertainment brand is a plus. This position will help support product lines from Pokémon Center bring excitement to fans through brand understanding, quality, uniqueness, and value for price. The candidate will be expected to fully immerse themself in the Pokémon brand.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with team and cross-functional teams to assist with full category analysis.
  • Assist with build-out and maintain yearly product calendars for apparel collections.
  • Assist with creation of product pitches that determine best mix based on marketing activities, partner’s capabilities, target market, and frequency of product refreshment.
  • Collect, organize, distribute, and archive product samples.
  • Communicate daily with internal and/or external partners via video calls, project management software, approvals software, and email.
  • Assist with accurate record of the development of each item from concept to approval, utilizing internal documentation and processes.
  • Perform other administrative duties consistent with position as assigned by manager.

What you’ll bring

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of related professional experience.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Autonomy and initiative; displays positive and professional conduct whilst solution driven
  • Experience in building brands
  • Knowledge/understanding of apparel and other branded merchandise including product timelines and print processes on various mediums.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams
  • Interest in pop culture, animation, video games, and/or trading card games is a plus.
