Art Outsource Manager

The Art Outsource Manager is responsible for the external development of the TPCi Game Studio art assets. This role will work directly with outsource partners to ensure quality, oversee production efforts, provide art direction and feedback. In addition, the Art Outsource Manager will own and drive the engine integration pipeline for outsource art assets.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the quality and technical accuracy of all incoming art assets.
  • Provide detailed feedback and approvals, art direction and daily communication through various platforms such as Basecamp, JIRA, Slack and Email.
  • Work with Art Leads to define and maintain visual documentation, style guides and best practices for external developers to follow.
  • Coordinate with production and leads to determine project needs, scope of work, sprint prioritization and high-level milestone planning.
  • Collaborate with internal client engineering, technical art, and design to improve and optimize asset integration pipeline
  • Make occasional changes or fixes to assets at any stage of the production cycle to ensure content is game ready and free of blocking bugs or issues.
  • Build and foster working relationships with external partners.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of professional game development experience, including 2+ years of outsource management or similar experience.
  • Core understanding and technical knowledge of real-time 3D engines; Unity a strong plus.
  • Experience developing for PC and mobile platforms including targeting multiple OS specifications with a solid understanding of performance limitations.
  • A deep knowledge of the disciplines involved in the content creation pipeline of real-time 3D art assets including animation, lighting, characters, props, and environments.
  • A working proficiency in the leading industry tools including Zbrush, Maya/3D Studio Max, Substance Painter, Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of industry standard modeling techniques including soft and hard surface modeling, high to low poly workflows and PBR render pipelines.
  • Proficient with project management tool and source control software such as Perforce.
