The Coalition is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Animator, with a proven track record in collaborating with peers to develop and maintain animation pipelines. In this position, you are expected to work with our cinematic animation team through content creation, tools development as well as technical support for our animation systems in Unreal. This candidate will partner with the animation team in our pursuit to delivering high-quality in game experiences.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Animation and Tools team to help create and maintain the animation pipeline as it pertains to cinematics, gameplay moments and seamless transitions
- Partner with cross discipline teams to help define, problem solve, communicate and document content workflows
- Support and improve the integration of animation assets into the game engine
- Support the cinematic team with any technical animation issues they may have
- Provide creative and technical feedback with a view to delivering efficient quality animation content
- Problem solve in-game animation implementation issues
- Be a positive and creative force in the team, working in a manner that supports and encourages a diverse and inclusive culture
Qualifications
- Must have 5+ years of experience in AAA video game development, with a focus on creating and defining high-quality real-time animation systems
- Real-time engine experience, ideally in UE4 working with matinee or sequencer
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Maya animation workflows
- Experience with Rigging is a benefit
- Experience with Python is a benefit
- Self-motivated, creative problem solver, great communicator
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Passion for the industry and an understanding of industry trends and technologies
