The Role @ TCR

The Chinese Room is looking for an experienced and talented QA Tester to join the team. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about their role, has outstanding communication skills and a keen eye for detail.

Within your new role you will:

  • Carry out development QA from early design through to end phase testing involving: Grey box testing, Black box / functional testing.

  • Monitor project check-ins as well as liaising with the dev team to identify and track issues

  • Run daily smoke test within the game engine and on all target platforms

  • Create, run and maintain test cases and test scenarios

  • Adjust and improve the test approach to capture issues in the development process

  • Take titles through end phase submission testing, from alpha to gold master

  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve quality and game experience

To be successful you will have:

  • Proven track record of QA testing at least 2 games projects from start to completion with console testing experience

  • Proactive and self-motivated, identifies problems in advance and presents innovative test approaches

  • Good level of Quality Assurance knowledge with game development\components

  • Bug\defect tracking based experience such as ADO, Hansoft, JIRA etc.

  • Very active team player with excellent written and spoken communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Experienced games player with the ability to familiarise with game-play elements rapidly

  • Passion and enthusiasm for the role and the company

  • An understanding of working within an agile development team

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of PC hardware components and safe methods of assembly and disassembly of desktop machines

  • Experience in console compliance testing

  • Experience using Wwise for audio testing
