Job description

• Conduct research on Internet industries to assist with formulating investment strategies in Europe.
• Prepare detailed analyses of specific industries and companies to identify growth opportunities within the Internet and related industries such as AI, quantum computing, biotech, games.
• Build and maintain financial models of companies in the course of investment research.
• Conduct due diligence on potential investment targets, conduct valuation and draft term sheets when necessary.
• Liaise with external companies and universities, engage with exec level stakeholders (e.g. CEOs, Founders) as well as Tencent internal teams, to develop new relationships and support collaborations
• Facilitate and support day-to-day management of Tencent Europe Office

Desired Skills and Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience. Scholar, ideally from a technical background (quantum computing / maths / computer science / physics / biotech etc). A deep specialism (PhD or Postdoc) would be a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of the Russian tech / Start-Up Ecosystem.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to understand financial statements. Basic knowledge of accounting standards is required.
• High level of integrity, dedication and motivation, as well as passion to learn about new areas; the ability to work independently with some oversight.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, team-spirit and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication in Russian and English, and Chinese language is a plus.
