This is a key role within the organisation and as a vital senior member of Team17 Group PLC you will be responsible for sourcing high quality video games from Independent Game Developers as part of the Product Acquisitions team for our Game Publishing Label.
The main objective of this position is to source video games that have high production values, are commercially viable and from passionate game developers around the world; then taking those opportunities through our due-diligence process to contract negotiations and signing.
As Team17 grows, it is crucial that we have role experienced and effective communicator to be part of this multi-department effort to ensure we are working efficiently together in a fast moving environment to sign the best games and maintaining our leading position in the market. Team17 are a passionate and fast-moving business with a strong work ethic and despite having a 30-year history as a business, the commercial and production teams maintain a ‘start-up’ mentality.
Team members are required to have strong initiative and are expected to take a very pro-active approach to their role. As part of this role you will be required to deliver on the following essential areas:
Key Responsibilities
- Build, develop and manage strong relationships with independent developers around the world.
- Identify video games with commercial opportunities that are suitable for the Team17 Publishing Label.
- Take the right opportunities through our detailed and thorough due-diligence process to contract negotiations and signing.
- Play an integral role in Team17’s product Greenlight process, working closely alongside the rest of the team and other departments to ensure that Team17 retains its position as a market leader for independent games publishing.
- Actively contribute to Team17’s Greenlight process for continued effectiveness and on-going improvement.
Role Specific Skills/Experience
- Extensive games industry experience in a product acquisitions role.
- Excellent management and communication skills.
- Experience with legal documentation and contract negotiations.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the current independent games sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of game development and publishing.
- Able to work in an international environment that is fast moving and within a multi-department framework.
- Have a high attention to detail. Be passionate about video games and wider entertainment.
