With the acquisition of a new studio at the start of 2020, Team 17 are now looking to hire multiple positions as key members of the studio management team in order to build a framework of that we can use to grow the studio and ensure that we are setting up the new site for success, headed up by a fantastic group of leaders. The QA manager will work closely with the Head of QA in our Wakefield Studio and is responsible for the management, growth and overseeing of the QA department at our Manchester Studio. This is an exciting opportunity to grow a new team in a relatively new studio to become a major player in Team 17’s growing portfolio of titles.

Reporting To: Head of QA

Role Responsibilities:

  • Balance financial management with quality and development process expertise to ensure your teams are creating progressive quality strategies with aligned and applicable measurements, optimized partner collaboration, and detailed reporting
  • Determine methods to track, and ensure regular reporting of quality, schedule, budget, and risk for each title - Use data to create strategic plans to guide large team performance improvements
  • Contribute to and embody Team17 and QA organizational strategies, instilling shared values, and focus areas within the teams; Guide and inspire the team, acting as a translator of high-level, long-term vision into concrete direction and action plans for the team, highlighting relevance and benefits to team members at all levels
  • Ensure that all mentoring and training programs are implemented and carried out to a high standard
  • Create quality goals and development plans to promote your team's professional growth
  • Lead and cultivate other managers; anticipate skill gaps and organizational needs for teams
  • Communicate within studios and external groups adapting content and detail to match the audience, collaborating outside of QA to solve problems and share best practices
  • Manage and maintain relationships across departments as well as with external partners, customers and suppliers

Requirements:

  • First class Leadership, Organisation and Management skills
  • First class scheduling and execution skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • 6+ years previous management experience in either the software development or gaming environments
