Team Liquid is looking for an experienced, business-oriented Human Resources Director to work out of our North American facilities in Santa Monica, CA. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, engaging leader who possesses high personal, professional, and ethical standards. This candidate must be an accomplished strategic thinker, proven people leader, and have successfully worked in an international, multicultural organization.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative internal communication channels between our European offices and U.S. facilities.
  • Manage and facilitate the delivery of exceptional HR services in the areas of talent acquisition, onboarding, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, HR operations, benefits, compensation, and labor compliance.
  • Prioritize the on-going development of the HR team.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of the company's evolving talent-management and performance management processes, ensuring a continuous pipeline of talent through a viable succession-plan and leadership-development process.
  • Develop job descriptions and fit roles and responsibilities within the organization that are optimal and logical given current capabilities of the organization.
  • Coordinate with senior level management to help define policies and take experiences within the company to adapt policies over time.
  • Develop orientation programs in coordination with Senior Leadership to provide a standard, but TL-customized experience for new hires.
  • Ensure all mandatory federal and state regulatory training is completed by each required member.
  • Assist in all visa and immigration work.
  • Help manage all on-going projects and new hires, both internationally and domestic, to ensure compliance with all local (municipality, region, state, and government) laws and regulations.
  • Develop, interpret and maintain employee handbook; ensure policies coincide with local legislation and business practices; maintain 100% compliance of employee acknowledgment.
  • Develop and implement required training for both employees, managers and contractors (i.e. harassment training, orientation, management development.).
  • Partners with Sr. Leaders on training/development needs.
  • Conduct annual compensation reviews, employee relation investigations, and quarterly analyses on retention trends.
  • The data, along with detailed analysis, to be presented to Sr. Leaders.
  • When needed, facilitate appropriate compensation conversation with managers.
  • Identify and maximize opportunities to drive and/or lead change to increase the business objectives and the employee experience.
  • Leverages analytics to drive change.
  • Facilitates change management initiatives.

What you should have:

  • BA/BS in human resources or a related field.
  • Strong initiative to create where there is basic materials and ability to rally support around key initiatives.
  • 5+ years experience in Human Resources Management with a multinational company, with 2+ year of supervising or leading an HR team.
  • SHRM certification is a plus.
  • Highly business and results-oriented with an ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proven record of developing and executing programs that maintain high employee engagement.
  • Experience with human resources practices and policies/legislation in North America.
  • Strong experience in HR process improvement, project management, and HR analytics.
  • Ability to maintain a strict code of confidentiality and use of discretion.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Desire and ability to travel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; is a team player.
  • Master's degree in human resources or related field is a plus.
  • Fluent in Dutch is a plus.
  • Experience in entertainment or software development industries is a plus.
  • Passionate about games and esports is a plus.
