The Challenge

Intercept Games is looking for a designer that melds their passions for art and systems design. Are you a fan of enabling others to craft the vehicles of their dreams? We want you!

What You’ll Take On

This designer will work alongside the lead designer to build vehicle parts and the gameplay systems that allow players to construct and control many types of vehicles. They must also keep in mind how those vehicles interact in specific environments and ensure that the relevant gameplay systems can accommodate those behaviors.

This position is highly collaborative, and the designer build first-pass 3D assets that conform to gameplay and UX requirements. These whitebox assets, combined with guidance on environments, are fundamental to teaming up with art to build final assets.

What You Bring

We are searching for a person with at least 3 years of experience in a game design or equivalent prototyping role. They are familiar with Unity and can build 3D assets in tools such as 3D Studio Max or Maya.

This individual is positive and can work autonomously, shepherding features and parts to completion. Listening, explaining, and advocating clearly and concisely with a broadly-skilled team is a daily occurrence.

Great to Have:

Vehicle and industrial design experience is an excellent foundation for the parts asset creation this job requires. Experience developing for games that focus on crafting using modular systems provides a similarly strong foundation in the systems aspect of this role. If you have a favorite project in Kerbal Space Program, Space Engineers, Minecraft, or even physical models, we want to see it!
