Position Overview

Super League is looking for an energized leader and creative thinker interested in being part of a fast-paced business with a positive culture driven by a collective will to succeed, who has a proven track record of building highly-engaged, constantly growing digital and social media audiences.

The VP of Digital Marketing is responsible for developing and executing digital marketing plans across the Company’s digital and social media properties, including web-based destinations, a network of social media channels, and video programming on a variety of platforms. Key areas of focus include paid and organic customer acquisition, customer relationship management (CRM), social media marketing, email and notifications marketing, SEO, content marketing, and digital and social media community growth. The position requires a strong understanding of customer acquisition and conversion funnels, CRM tools and best practices, and social media audience growth strategies and tactics. Success will depend upon the ability to work within early-stage company budgets yet still achieve outsized audience growth through innovative campaigns and data-driven decision-making.

The VP of Digital Marketing will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and work closely with multiple teams within the company, including Product Marketing, Creative, Content, Sales and Partnerships, and Product Management. The role will require creating a digital marketing center of excellence that is a reliable audience development engine for wholly owned properties and partner-based initiatives. While gaming industry experience or a personal interest in gaming is a plus, a commitment to immersing oneself into gaming culture is an absolute requirement.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Hands-on development and documentation of digital marketing strategies and implementation plans.
  • Oversee, maintain, and expand the company’s social media presence.
  • Management of a 3-5 person team consisting of individuals with varying degrees of experience within specific areas of digital marketing.
  • Direct management of paid media campaigns across Facebook, Google and YouTube.
  • Leverage Super League’s consumer and audience data to inform decisions and tactics.
  • Analyze user behavior and feedback in order to build stronger customer affinity and higher customer lifetime value.
  • Design and optimize user conversion funnels via A/B and multivariate testing.
  • Evaluate emerging digital marketing technologies
  • Review industry publications and staying abreast of digital marketing best-practices.
  • Provide regular reports to Executive Management regarding the efficacy of digital marketing efforts against business objectives.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years prior digital marketing experience
  • Interest in esports and the gaming industry at large
  • Deep knowledge of all major social media platforms, inclusive of active relationships with points of contact.
  • Understanding of and experience with industry leading digital marketing planning and measurement tools.
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm about digital marketing as a career discipline
  • A positive approach towards day-to-day tasks along with a creative approach to problem-solving
  • Strong attention to detail and robust interpersonal skills
  • Track record of managing high-performing teams
  • Self-starter, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability and act on goals and objectives
