Following the incredible success of Sumo Pune, which since its founding in 2007 has grown to over 150 talented team members across a myriad of disciplines, Sumo Digital is opening a new studio in Bangalore to support the development of some of the most exciting video game projects in the world.

Sumo Bangalore is a new studio that will play a key part in the co-development of multiple AAA console titles across Sumo Group. We are looking to hire key specialists across Art and Engineering to join the Sumo India family.

As a Sumo Digital studio, Sumo Bangalore joins an award-winning family of international studios. Previous titles developed by Sumo Digital include the BAFTA-Award winning Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Hood: Outlaws & Legends, Control Ultimate Edition on Google Stadia, Apple Arcade Award-winning Little Orpheus, Hot Shot Racing, WST Snooker and Spyder.

Sumo Video Games, India is looking for a dynamic Senior Producer to help manage projects at our new Bengaluru studio.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in Production, of which 3 years in Gaming (console/PC) domain.
  • International project experience.
  • Be a key leader/contributor to the development team.
  • Good overall communication skills and proficiency in English. Written and verbal communication is clear and concise.
  • Manage communication of project progress with internal senior management team.
  • Maintain close communication with team leads and provide team members with material and technical support as needed
  • Manage day to day communication of matters regarding schedule, budget, change and risk with key stakeholders and making recommendations accordingly
  • Skilled in the use of Excel, TFS, MS project, Jira and other project management tools.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and processes.
  • Supervise/Create realistic milestone content and production schedules in coordination with production team/ leads and management.
  • Manage the schedules of multiple departments within the game team, to ensure that milestones are agreed, detailed, and delivered as expected.
  • Assigns work to production and team members and make sure program and project objectives are met.
  • Manage change – ensure project scope is adhered to, control feature creep, & ensure project is delivered in accordance with expectations, and project budget changes if necessary.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts between schedule, budget, and design goals.
  • Continuously assess risk, plan mitigation, and keep scope of the project in line with budget and schedule.
  • Use tact and diplomacy when engaged in difficult discussions to achieve the best possible outcomes. Follow the escalation matrix.
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships and teamwork within the development team and across disciplines and support them to carry out the goals and vision of the project.
  • Follow best practices.
  • Ensure that each member of the team is working from a tracked schedule and has a strong sense of ownership, responsibility and accountability for the quality and timeliness of their contribution
  • Be able to identify multiple solutions to any problem & choose the most appropriate.
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop pipelines and workflows that minimize risk, increase efficiency and quality as well as allowing for predictive planning.
  • Co-ordinate with all necessary departments and divisions to facilitate execution of projects and materials in a professional and client-centric manner.
  • Give feedback/suggestions when requested about team members during reviews.
  • Able to coach mentor junior production staff
  • Keep abreast of current trends in the marketplace especially about similar and/or competitive product.
