The role @ Sumo

This is a brand new role within Sumo. This person will be the main administrative lead for Sumo’s subcontractor base, including coordinating the onboarding process (setting up contracts, raising purchase orders), managing and reporting on contractor expenditure, processing of invoices and monitoring compliance with applicable regulation.

In your new job you will be responsible for all aspects of subcontractor admin, including:

  • Raising contractor agreements, using standard templates and information supplied on the Purchase Order (“PO”);
  • Checking the PO has all the necessary approvals and/or facilitate collection of approvals from business users;
  • Liaising with Development Directors and Legal team to facilitate changes to standard terms requested by contractors;
  • First point of contact with contractors for all administrative matters;
  • Assisting the Finance team with basic queries around contractor invoices and POs;
  • Performing basic background check on any new contractors, using standard template provided by Finance team;
  • Maintaining a master list of all Group contractors;
  • Performing quarterly reviews of contractor expenditure and compliance with IR35 tax regulation;
  • Working with IT/HR/Finance/Development Directors to ensure any changes to processes work for contractors;
  • Supply/update info to IT/HR/Finance/Development Directors on regular basis.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required

To be successful you will have:

  • Previously held administrative roles in either a Finance, HR or Legal team (or similar business support functions)
  • Experience working in a fast paced working environment with changing priorities
  • Experience reading, handling and/or processing changes to legal contracts, either commercial or employment
  • A basic understanding of off-payroll (subcontractor) employment regulation
  • The ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
