The Role @Sumo

Coming into the Sumo Group, you would be welcomed to a friendly, inclusive environment within a sustainable but growing business where you can learn and collaborate with some exceptionally talented people in the industry. This role will provide an effective, accurate and timely HR administration service to support all Sumo Group businesses and their employees. It is an exciting opportunity to provide studio support across all of our studios as part of a shared services administration team.

Within this role you will

  • Provide administrative support to ensure a timely, accurate and positive experience is delivered to the business and its people throughout the employee life cycle; including, but not limited to; contract generation & amendments, onboarding & offboarding processes, reference requests, absence recording, amendments to T&C’s, benefits admin, performance review and reward process admin.
  • Provide basic advice, support and guidance to employees and Line Managers via e-mail, telephone and face to face. Pass queries / escalate issues onto HR Advisors / HR Managers where appropriate.
  • Provide studio support to all of our studios as part of a shared administration service team.
  • Maintain employee data / records, ensuring they are accurate, kept up to date in a timely manner and stored in line with HR confidentiality policy and GDPR regulations.
  • Ensure payroll sheets are updated monthly with new starters / leavers information, additional payments or deductions and supporting documentation is provided to finance / payroll by the cut-off date.
  • In conjunction with the wider HR team, be responsible for updating and creating HR forms, templates and processes, ensuring they remain up to date and fit for purpose.
  • Provide support to advisors and managers, also ensuring they are kept up to date with all matters of importance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the HR admin function, in conjunction with the HR Admin Team Lead.
  • Contribute to management information / reports on a routine and ad-hoc basis.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Administrator for a minimum of 1-2years’ experience from within a fast-paced office environment, ideally within HR.
  • Previous experience of dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Well-developed IT skills and familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office - Word/Excel/Outlook/Teams.
  • HR database systems experience is desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills to be able to manage a varied workload and to complete work on time.
  • Must have a keen eye for detail, be consistent in approach, and accurate.
  • Ability to use initiative to solve problems and be solution focused.
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to quickly gain credibility and trust, building good working relationships both within the HR team and across the business.
  • Must have a flexible attitude and able to bring enthusiasm and a desire to ‘get stuck in’ with whatever comes your way.
  • Ability to promote and uphold HR initiatives and Company values – respect, innovation, determination, accountability, recognition and fun.
  • HR Qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Uses a factual approach to decision-making, able to apply knowledge and experience to deliver and/or propose solutions. Able to spot issues proactively, then suggest and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Treats people with respect Is friendly and approachable, professional and patient. Works as part of a strong team. Supports team decisions and is able to act confidentially and with integrity at all times.
  • Takes pride in their own work and seeks feedback on how to improve performance. Accepts new opportunities for learning.
  • Is highly organised and has the ability to handle a high volume workload in a timely manner.
