The role @ Sumo
We are looking for a passionate Game Designer to join Sumo Digital in the early stages of an exciting new IP. We are looking for candidates with experience in combat design to help develop and balance the weapons and abilities that will form our launch line-up. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing the core experience for a new AAA Shooter experience.
Within this role you will:
- Work with senior designers to develop content from inception through to game release; striving for quality and innovation while adhering to the core vision of the game
- Evangelise the design of each piece of content to all disciplines and act as the go-to person who ensures everyone understands what is required
- Maintain, iterate and balance the combat content and systems based on feedback, user testing, and telemetry data
We need you to have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience and passion for designing combat systems, weapons, and abilities for shooter games – preferably on-line PvP Shooters.
- A likable and approachable personality with a desire to motivate those around you
- A passionate love of gaming and a strong understanding of modern gaming trends; particularly in the PvP shooter genre.
- 3+ years in game development preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of UE4
