The role @ Sumo

We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Business Development to join the Sumo Business Development team. Reporting to the Commercial Director and working closely with the Studio Directors and Senior Management, this role requires extensive experience along with exceptional organisational and communication skills.

The primary location of the role is flexible but +/-2 hours of GMT is preferred.

In your new role you will:

  • Ensure Sumo is positioned front-of-line for any new partnership or product opportunities.
  • Seek out and identify partnership opportunities for a wide range of development studios across the full spectrum of project / genre / technical capabilities and expertise.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with potential partners in the publishing and development sector, as well as all key Sumo stakeholders.
  • An expert in relationship management, understanding the complexities of working with Development, Publishing, Legal, and Finance to support products from initial contact through to execution.

To be successful you will have:

  • 5+ years of game industry experience but not necessarily in business development.
  • Direct development and/or publishing experience a positive.
  • Active market intelligence is essential.
  • A sound understanding of the international gaming industry structure and dynamics.
  • Articulate with a professional manner.
  • Highly detailed and organised with a proactive work ethic.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and cooperative spirit, giving and receiving help when necessary.
  • Willingness to travel.
