Following the incredible success of Sumo Pune, which since its founding in 2007 has grown to over 150 talented team members across a myriad of disciplines, Sumo Digital is opening a new studio in Bangalore to support the development of some of the most exciting video game projects in the world.

Sumo Bangalore is a new studio that will play a key part in the co-development of multiple AAA console titles across Sumo Group. We are looking to hire key specialists across Art and Engineering to join the Sumo India family.

As a Sumo Digital studio, Sumo Bangalore joins an award-winning family of international studios. Previous titles developed by Sumo Digital include the BAFTA-Award winning Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Hood: Outlaws & Legends, Control Ultimate Edition on Google Stadia, Apple Arcade Award-winning Little Orpheus, Hot Shot Racing, WST Snooker and Spyder.

Sumo Bangalore is looking to expand our project teams and has a great opportunity for an Art Manager looking for a new challenge.

Collaborating closely with production, design, code and audio you will be part of the leadership for the team responsible managing the delivery of the art for the project.

If you are an Art Manager with a passion for delivering high quality content while running, mentoring and motivating a diverse Art Team we have the right role for you!

Within this role, you will:

  • Responsible for managing the production and delivery of all art and animation on a AAA title
  • Helping to create and manage the schedule for Art and Animation
  • Effectively maintaining the Art and Animation backlog
  • Working with all teams to organize sprint tasks
  • Liaising with Production, Dev Director and Art Director on all art planning and milestone definition processes
  • Communicating and prioritizing dependencies
  • Providing guidance to the Art Director on the requirements of art and animation
  • Presenting best practices to art teams, critiquing problematic assets and workflows
  • Communicating clearly, in all directions
  • Facilitating collaboration with external and internal teams
  • Organizing and managing Art documentation

We need you to have:

  • Experience of managing an Art team through the complete lifecycle of project development
  • Ability to organize and supervise creative teams to accomplish their assignments
  • Scheduling, budgeting, and outsourcing experience
  • Strong knowledge of 3D pipelines and asset management
  • Broad understanding of contemporary processes and engine technology
  • Good verbal, visual and written communication skills
