We are looking for a Senior Lighting Artist to join our established team to work on a AAA arcade racing title, being built in Unreal 5 for Gen 5 consoles and PC.
It couldn’t be a more exciting time to join us as we embark on next-gen projects with the aim of creating a truly AAA experience pushing the boundaries in UE4 & UE5.
Ideally you have experience of working on published console titles with a wide knowledge of industry tools. You will be part of a talented, dynamic studio whose key responsibility is to push for quality and efficiency wherever possible.
Your Role
Create AAA quality lighting for engaging game experiences
Working with technical art and engineering to deliver world class and innovative techniques
Work with production to plan lighting work and dependencies
Optimise lighting content for memory and performance while retaining visual quality
Be aware of potential risks to the project and bring it to the attention of management
Collaboration with the team to decide on the best working practices
Provide feedback and advice to team members on the project
Collaborate with tech art and graphics engineers on materials/shaders, shadows, anti-aliasing and other image quality issues
Working with Art Director/Creative Director to create a distinctive look that supports gameplay
Requirements
Your Skills
An impressive portfolio demonstrating your skills and achievements
Experience creating real-time dynamic and baked lighting, grading and other post fx, all with an eye on image quality and performance
Lighting experience in UE4 (or similar game engine)
Experience in industry standard art tools such as required 3DS Max/Maya, Photoshop
Photography experience shooting lighting reference, HDRI/IBL as needed
Working knowledge of art creation workflow, asset exporting and data driven pipelines
Worked as a lead on at least 2x AAA games or 4x feature films with examples of work in portfolio
Experience managing and training a team of lighting artists
Experience in real-time lighting
Bonus points for
Experience in creating HDR skyboxes
Working with blueprints in UE4
Experience in material/shader work and scripting
Experience in colour grading/post-process effects
