At Statespace we’re using cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and video games to revolutionize the way that humans improve.

Our first product, Aim Lab, is a personalized training platform that helps gamers learn about their strengths and weaknesses and train for the game they love. Aim Lab has over 20 million players around the world and is available for free on Steam and even on Roblox. Aim Lab also has official partnerships with some of the biggest publishers, including Riot, and Ubisoft.

Our team consists of scientists, designers, engineers, and game industry vets coming together from places like NYU, MTV, NASA, Yale, Nintendo, and the NFL. We are well-funded and supported by some of the world’s best investors and entrepreneurs, including Khosla Ventures, FirstMark Capital, Lux Capital, Expa Capital, and WndrCo.

We hire talented, self-motivated people and get out of their way. We are based in NYC but have a remote work culture and are looking for exceptional people to join our team regardless of their physical location.

We value performance, not hours worked (or when you work them). We believe you shouldn’t have to miss your kid’s play or doctor’s appointment for the sake of adhering to an arbitrary work schedule.

However, if you are looking for a job where you are happy to just collect a nice paycheck and/or nap under your desk like George Costanza, we are not the right fit for you (we don’t even have desks).

We’re looking for smart and proactive people with a deep knowledge of video production, YouTube, and FPS gaming. Aim Lab is a startup environment with the associated perks and challenges that moving fast and pivoting often entails. On some projects you will be expected to work closely to brief, while on others you will be setting your own agenda and going at your own pace. You’ll do great here if you can innovate and iterate quickly, embracing the chaos as you go!

Key Responsibilities

• Own the vision, content calendar, and production pipeline for the Aim Lab YouTube channels
• Help to build a fantastic culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration among your reports and cross-functional teams
• Contribute to ideation, scripting, production, editing, and publishing
• Establish and maintain brand quality standards across all channel output
• Work closely with Head of Content, Partnerships, Social, Marketing and Product leads to ensure the content calendar supports our roadmaps
• Analyze, optimize and report on performance, making recommendations about the future direction

Ideal Skills

• 7+ years of experience as a Producer making content for YouTube
• Excellent communication skills - the ability to level-switch between different functions of the business and represent your projects in appropriate terms for each audience
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Ability to ideate, write compelling scripts and work with production crews to drive projects forwards
• Deep understanding of video production for online audiences
• Creative problem solving under time-pressure
• Experienced with using data to optimize performance, particularly with thumbnail effectiveness, and how to translate YouTube Analytics data into creative direction
• Growth mindset with a sincere desire to learn and improve
• Experience with video editing is not essential but a definite bonus
