We are looking for an enthusiastic, new addition to our team with a β€œcan do attitude” to deliver on our BA (Hons) Esports degree. This innovative degree is jointly delivered by the Business School and the Department of Games and Visual Effects. Due to the hugely successful introduction of this unique degree course in September 2018, we need to add to our academic delivery team to accommodate a healthy growth in applications.

Staffordshire University is a leading Games Design University in the UK, with an exciting portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It is the home of the UK’s Epic Games Centre and the university has won national awards for educational initiatives with the Games Industry. Staffordshire Business School made news within the esports industry, with the launch of the first Esports degree in the UK in 2018. The Esports portfolio is now further expanding with the launch of a postgraduate MA Esports.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record as a practitioner and be passionate about teaching and the career development of students.

You will teach and assess students across programmes and will play a lead role in the development of the curriculum and the design and delivery of new modules. We will also look to you to help shape our teaching and learning strategies to explicitly enhance the student experience through the use of digital technology.

You must be an enthusiastic, reliable, flexible lecturer with business experience and an ambition to undertake research, scholarly activity, consultancy or income generating activities. You will also be expected to contribute to engagement with schools, colleges and recruitment activities. We ensure the success of our courses through constant, meaningful collaboration with the esports industry, which you will be a part of.

Candidates for this role must have applied experience and be willing to undertake further level eight study if appropriate.

At the University we celebrate diversity and promote equality and inclusion amongst our staff and students. As such, we welcome applications from all, regardless of personal characteristics or background. We particularly welcome applications from Women and Black and Asian Minority Ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within the University at a senior level.

To apply, you will be required to complete an online application form and submit a copy of your CV quoting the relevant reference number for the role you are applying for.
