We are looking for a character rigger to work with us on our next game project.

The ideal candidate shall have a few years of experience in the game or movie industry, with working knowledge in Maya and script creation.

The ideal candidate will also be a team player, able to solve character setup problems in close interaction with animators and game designers.

Responsibilities

  • Rig characters, weapons, props, etc. in Maya using in-house tools (joint placement, skinning, auxiliary joint setup, creation of control rig, etc.)
  • Acquire knowledge on our in-house engine to verify asset workflow and proper runtime operation.
  • Collaborate with the art team to understand the overall game vision + rigging and skinning needs.
  • Create useful tools for efficient creation and adjustment of rigs (e.g. Python script)
  • Suggest /propose creative ideas and solutions to animation challenges

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of rigging and skinning techniques in Maya
  • Practical experience with making rigs and scripting tools in python
  • Ability to optimize performance of rigs

Good to have

  • Communication skills in Japanese
  • Experience with AAA game engines
  • Experience in simulation techniques (cloth, hair, etc)
