Square Enix Europe is looking for a French translator to join the Online Community Team at the London office, who will mainly be handling translation, edit and proofread of various items for FINAL FANTASY XIV and BABYLON’S FALL.

Requirements

Key Deliverables:

  • Provide English to French translations of official articles including but not limited to website news and pages (Lodestone, Hanging Garden), marketing and PR materials, blogs.
  • When needed, assist the community team with the day-to-day work, including but not limited to copywriting, streaming preparations and moderation, reporting, asset creation for social media, event planning and organisation.
  • Other related duties as required.

Key Stakeholders:

Head of Community and Services, Online Community Teams, PR and Marketing teams

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

  • Native level French with fluent English
  • Active participation in online gaming communities
  • Knowledge about games and community management in general

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a translator or editor
  • Translation experience gained within the games industry
  • Experience playing FINAL FANTASY XIV and/or BABYLON’S FALL

Competencies, Skills & Attributes:

Essential:

  • Excellent French writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written skills)
  • Team player with a professional and positive attitude
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Accurate understanding of English and French grammar
  • Familiar with MS Office applications, especially Excel/Word/PowerPoint

Desirable:

  • Proficient computer/IT skills
  • Understanding of Japanese culture
  • Proficiency in Japanese
  • Previous experience working with CAT (computer assisted translation) tools

Other:

  • Knowledge and passion for Square Enix or online titles
  • Available to work flexible hours and travel abroad
  • Able to perform under pressure
  • Able to work at events
