We are looking for a Marketing Analyst to assess key parameters for digital marketing and lead actionable recommendations to optimise agency and in-house campaigns. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with digital advertising platforms and have worked across owned media as well as search, social and display. Capable of moving seamlessly between internal and external partners, they strive to continually improve performance. Knowledge of data exploration tools and data visualisation in a commercial setting will enable our chosen candidate to communicate valuable insights and feed into the overall marketing strategy.

On a day-to-day basis, the Marketing Analyst will measure the performance and effectiveness of our digital marketing activities to improve overall media efficiency. Partnering with brand and marketing teams to empower the use of tracking tools and reports will deepen our understanding of online behaviour to enable successful A/B and multi-variant testing and drive improvement across a range of different areas. In turn, this will inform larger, more strategic projects spanning customer journey, segmentation and attribution modelling. As part of a creative and collaborative team, this self-starter will have a desire to work across diverse data sources; seeking out new information to shape our customer understanding, support development and provide insights that lead to measurable actions for Square Enix’s digital future.

Key Deliverables:

  • Provide stakeholders with key expertise for online marketing activities and conversion rate optimisation (CRO) across marketing platforms and traffic

  • Identify best practices for digital marketing, establish baselines and contribute to the development of in-house campaigns

  • Gather both internal and external marketing data to track key metrics and provide clear return on investment (ROI) insights that can be understood and actioned by stakeholders

  • Work with brand teams and agencies to set appropriate success criteria and optimise longer term campaigns

  • Create measurement plans to assess the value of search, media and social

  • Champion a move towards modelled attribution to account for multiple engagements typical of true conversion

  • Identify user experience opportunities and issues through the funnel – this may also include integrating third party data from partners

  • Support in ideation and execution of test and learn programmes

  • Leverage additional cross-channel data sources (eCRM / in-game) to seek a greater understanding of the consumer journey

  • Participate in wider departmental initiatives to quantify customer lifetime value and improve our ability to acquire, engage and retain

  • Contribute to a collaborative environment in which the team can share methodologies and ideas to support the creation of cutting-edge solutions to our internal stakeholders’ most relevant problems

  • Clearly communicate schedule and priorities to stakeholders

  • Remain alert to opportunities which further utilise our data to benefit the business

Knowledge & Experience:


  • Experienced in digital marketing analysis: spanning web and owned media through to search and social

  • Commercial experience using digital advertising platforms including Google / Facebook / Twitter Ads

  • Understanding of PPC, SEO & CRM

  • Comfortable with creating clear and relevant dashboards (e.g. using DataStudio, Power BI or Looker)

  • Knowledge of site measurement and tagging tools (e.g. GA / GTM)


  • Can manipulate and join large or complex data sets accurately (e.g. writing SQL)

  • Experience in optimising digital content via A/B or using multi-variant testing software

  • Heatmapping tools experience (e.g. ContentSquare or Hotjar)
