Job Summary

Square Enix is investing in an exciting HR transformation programme to unlock performance in our people through excellent HR practice aligned to our business goals. In support of this we have this new role in our team as an integral part of delivery to the plan.

In this role you will oversee, mature and grow the Employee advisory and relationship function in line with our HR transformation strategic goals. Working closely with the HR team you will collaborate with heads of department to understand people needs; pre-empt employee relations issues through proactive support and deliver excellent service across the organisation. You will take the lead and be accountable for the delivery of ER activities acting as the lead HR consultant across a full generalist remit for the Square Enix London office (c. 350 employees). You will have one HR BP direct report.

Our ideal candidate will be organised, approachable and comfortable working in a diverse fast-paced environment. You should be passionate about service delivery and curious to understand how our business functions so you can provide appropriate advice. You will have significant experience with employment law, (including disciplinary, PIP and grievance), managing change and proactively supporting line managers to deliver effectively for employees. Your key responsibilities will be to execute on assigned areas of the HR Strategy to enable excellent performance in our teams through our managers.

Requirements

Key Deliverables

Employee Relations

  • Deliver on assigned elements of HR strategy to drive performance in our teams
  • Coach / mentor managers and employees to increase HR effectiveness
  • Lead annual review cycle for EU offices
  • Champion for culture, employee voice and 2 way feedback
  • Lead disciplinary, grievance and performance improvement processes
  • Act as HR point person for heads of departments
  • Maintain and track employee relations cases
  • Research and Maintain Employee Handbook in accordance with legislation

Employee Development

  • Build succession and development plans for key positions in collaboration with line managers
  • Develop appropriate job specifications in conjunction with Talent Acquisition team
  • Assess and support new headcount request for assigned teams
  • Build out competency framework for assigned functions
  • Coach and develop HR generalist team

Other

  • Lead and coordinate assigned HR projects

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Confident in recommending best course of action
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Agile in prioritising / adjusting to changing priorities and the unexpected

  • Experience in adapting communication style to audience

Desirable

  • Experience providing HR BP support in technology, gaming or media industries
  • HR / Business related Degree / Diploma or CIPD Level 5 or greater
  • Has used “Workday” (or similar cloud based HCM/HRIS)
  • Business fluent in French or German as second language
  • Experience providing employment relations advice in France or Germany
