The Information Security Specialist role will be responsible for providing security advice and assurance to business and global IT projects in addition to planning and guiding strategic security improvements. The role is aimed at candidates with a risk mindset and technical aptitude who can apply core security principles to protect a wide range of IT disciplines and business processes. The role offers the opportunity to further develop a career in Cyber Security in an exciting, fast moving industry.

Experience and Qualifications:

The role would suit anyone with prior experience in:

An Information Security function operating in an engineering, risk or advisory-focused role.
A security consulting position, getting exposure to securing a variety of client problems.
An administration / engineering-focused IT role.

Thorough grasp of common security principles and requirements with the ability to apply these to protect a range of technologies and information systems.
Adept at learning and understanding new technologies quickly.
Ability to converse confidently across security domains such as data loss prevention, cloud security, identity and access management, network security, cryptography, system hardening and application security.
Thorough grasp of common security principles and requirements with the ability to apply these to protect a range of technologies and information systems.

Good judgement to scope, plan and manage the security support required by projects, juggling the demand from different business areas.

Experience with the enterprise security features of Microsoft 365.
Experience providing security support to projects using public cloud platforms, common SaaS services and collaboration technologies.
Familiarity with common architecture methodologies and their benefits (e.g. TOGAF, SABSA).
Experience in reviewing, recommending and implementing security solutions across a range of enterprise IT disciplines.
Appreciation for containerised application management / orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes).
