We are looking for a Gameplay Programmer to work with us on a new high-end console game project. The gameplay programmer will work closely with game designers to initially prototype and implement a wide range of gameplay features such as camera, character control & movement, animation, combat and AI. As the project progresses, the gameplay programmer should be able to work in a more specialized fashion and possibly own a gameplay system.
Responsibilities
- Prototype and code gameplay features, in close collaboration with both game designers and engine system programmers
- As needed, prepare documentation and tutorial for the gameplay teams
- Create, maintain and optimize workflows and authoring environment needed by designers
- Ensure respect of specifications as well as an enjoyable experience for the player (includes debugging and optimization tasks)

Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in gameplay programming
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Experience working with current-gen, cross-platform game engines
- Experience in efficiently iterating upon gameplay features from prototyping to polishing
- Experience working with and supporting a team of various disciplines. Teamwork-oriented mindset
- Ability to communicate in English and/or Japanese
Good to have
- Good knowledge of AI/Animation related mathematics and physics
- Experience in completing a AAA title on PS4 or XBOX1
- Experience in code profiling and optimization
