Job Summary

We’re looking for a passionate marketer who has at least 5 years’ experience in central marketing functions for Western gaming brands on the mobile platform.

The role will be responsible for the positioning and origination of all Brand materials – including but not restricted to key art, trailers, advertising assets, web creative, promotional materials, and app store collateral. Additionally, the candidate will be the central contact for all external brand, PR and marketing partnerships.

Alongside this, the role requires an understanding of mobile game development since the candidate is required to influence and support the game assets themselves such as character, story and tone so the game and campaigns are in harmony.

Requirements

Key Deliverables

  • Build effective relationships with teammates across Square Enix global offices and our external development teams, ensuring an understanding of our team’s requirements and needs to meet business goals.
  • Be capable and experienced in creating marketing materials to support a mobile game launch and beyond. This requires the candidate to be a good communicator both internally and externally with our partners to deliver excellent marketing plans and materials. The candidate should not be afraid to break the mould we like original thinkers.
  • Build and maintain Go To Market plans, ensuring all aspects are covered including asset schedules, milestone delivery dates, promotional budgets and schedules, market/genre status and history, brand assets usage guidelines, competitive marketplace and relevant territory specifics etc.
  • Be an evangelist and expert for the mobile and the brand, both internally and externally, working with industry press, digital outlets and wider media to engage potential audience members and create excitement for both new and ongoing releases.
  • Work closely with Product Management, User Acquisition, PR, Community, Business Intelligence and Market Research since the role will work closely with these disciplines. The candidate is expected to influence and support these teams.
  • Use analysis and industry metrics to evaluate mobile titles and category performance as well as identifying opportunities to drive virality of game portfolio.
  • Attend and support industry events where needed (E3, Gamescom, Paris Games Week, PGC etc).
  • Work with the external development teams and have a clear understanding of the requirements to maximise the product within the target markets.
  • Build relationships with first party platforms, working to secure features and additional exposure whilst also gaining insight into platform roadmaps.
  • Have experience managing budgets.
  • Provide consumer and market insight to inform the development of product and campaign effectiveness. Run post-mortems on campaigns and ensure knowledge sharing and learnings improve future.

Person Specification:

Essential

  • 3+ years experience of strategic and brand marketing/management on the mobile platform.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of tactical marketing on a European or International level. Must show understanding of the different requirements for International markets and have prior experience of delivering to different local territory needs.
  • Experienced in delivering innovative above-the-line promotional activities, with an active and evolving knowledge of promotional opportunities, technologies and trends.
  • Good and confident communicator/presenter, with proven ability of working effectively across a diverse number of international stakeholders.
  • Must have previous experience within the computer games industry and/or other entertainment-based industry.
  • Strong project management capability.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Western games market.
  • Experience of working to KPI’s.

Desirable

  • Experience working on AAA console brands to understand the expectations of the Square Enix brands.
  • Launched a #1 charting game in the US or UK store.
  • Experience working with IP owned by other entities.
