Lead and support the FQA (Functionality QA) team and take primary responsibility for the work execution according to the standards and policies of the company
Requirements
Key Deliverables:
Ensure the FQA team is supported with regards to training needs and professional development
Allocate, track, and follow-up on daily tasks with the test teams
Primary point of contact/escalation between QA and development/production teams for overall quality across all titles with regards to publisher standards and expectations
Manage and maintain the bug database, ensuring an accurate status reflection on defects, milestones, submissions, etc.
Create and maintain test plans, templates, and other relevant project information across line of business tools
Monitor QA data and trends for ongoing improvements to test strategy and approach
Regularly report on metrics such as test progress, regression, blockers, title health, etc. to relevant parties and stakeholders
Collaborate with other QA leadership and management to establish clear and consistent criteria and expectations across service lines for QA kick-off, coverage, ongoing testing progress, and overall QA expectations leading up to signoffs and submissions
Work with technical director and producers on tools, best practices, and help sign off on content prior to implementation (e.g., QA input during greenlight meetings)
Collaborate with internal management to ensure testing workforce/coverage/needs respect allocated budgets; ability to flag any concerns in a timely manner
Work with and manage extremal/remote teams

Knowledge & Experience:
Essential:
Experience in a software QA/development environment with knowledge of QA practices and procedures
Experience managing/leading a team in a software QA environment
Experience with and understanding software development cycles and milestones
Experience with a range of functionality testing (sanity, acceptance, user, etc.)
Desirable:
Familiarity or knowledge in automation
Working knowledge of engines and their tools (e.g., Unreal, Unity)
Degree/certificates related to software development
Understanding of network testing tools and limitations (e.g., throttling, debugging, etc.)
Familiarity testing across a wide range of title scopes and their teams, e.g., indie to AAA
Competencies, Skills & Attributes:
Essential:
Knowledge of JIRA or equivalent defect tracking database
Knowledge of test case scoping, techniques, management, and tools
Strong familiarity of current-gen gaming consoles and their systems
Strong understanding of functional tests and their uses throughout the software development cycle
Understanding of a wide variety of video game genres and their systems e.g. single player, multiplayer, linear, etc.)
Knowledge of MS Office suite
Creative and โout of the boxโ approach/mentality to QA
