Square Enix’s Analytics & Insight department is responsible for delivering an understanding of consumer behaviour using data collected from users and games. Our expanding team consists of skilled and passionate analysts and data scientists working across a wide range of projects for marketing, web, sales, executive and game production teams. Our team’s mission is to enable our stakeholders to make data-driven decisions, ultimately leading to better games through data insights. We are looking for an analyst with website tracking knowledge and advertising agency experience who can seamlessly move between focussing on campaign optimisation alongside marketing teams and work with development teams for data gathering.

In this position, the Digital Analyst’s time will be focussed on measuring and optimising the performance of our digital marketing activities whilst advancing Square Enix’s existing website tracking. The successful candidate will understand the marketing ecosystem and how digital channels interact and will bring new ideas for how we improve the on-site customer experience through A/B and multi-variant testing. This self-starter will also have a desire to work across diverse data sources; bringing together disparate information to shape our customer understanding, support development and provide insights that lead to measurable actions for Square Enix’s digital future.

We are looking for candidates with a deep knowledge of web analytics and digital marketing know-how, who wish to take the next step in their career. They will have a wealth of practical experience working with agencies and advertising data and are comfortable communicating valuable insights to an array of teams to influence decisions.

Requirements

Key Deliverables

  • Take part in a major digital data transformation and provide key expertise for online marketing activities and conversion rate optimisation (CRO)
  • Develop and integrate ideas for improving website performances through A/B and multi-variant testing
  • Provide technical knowledge for gathering and measuring external marketing data and turning these into actionable insights
  • Form an integral part of the development and integration of digital online marketing campaigns in-house, including paid media
  • Identify best practices for digital marketing and support their adoption throughout the business
  • Identification of new website tagging needs and analytics optimisations, and support internal and external teams with implementation
  • Together with development teams, gather and integrate requirements to improve our existing web-tracking infrastructure
  • Effectively communicate global digital performance to a variety of stakeholders and teams, including Marketing, Brand and Sales
  • Create a range of dashboards and reports that track key metrics while providing clear ROI insights that can be easily digested and actioned by stakeholders
  • Support and present notable information and key findings across the business
  • Help provide a collaborative environment in which the team can develop methodologically sound data analysis techniques
  • Remain alert to opportunities which further utilise our data to benefit the business
  • Ensure we continue to collect, document and refine relevant data
  • Prioritises own and team’s work as necessary
  • Clearly communicate schedule and priorities to stakeholders

Key Stakeholders

Essential

  • Extensive use of Google Analytics 360
  • Demonstrable experience using a range of digital advertising platforms including Google Adwords, Facebook Ads and Twitter Ads
  • Experience in running multi-platform digital marketing campaigns
  • Experience using A/B testing software such as Optimizely or Optimize 360
  • Experienced in tag management systems like Google Tag Manager (including custom tags)
  • Confident in translating complex technical findings into actionable insights
  • Ability to communicate and provide insights to a variety of business levels
  • Handle multiple tasks while managing priorities and stakeholder expectations as needed
  • You enjoy collaborating with people at all organisational levels and you are driven to develop skills in others

Desirable

  • Familiarity with SQL (e.g. querying Google Analytics 360 data in BigQuery) and JavaScript
  • DataStudio, Power BI or Tableau experience
  • Rule-based / automated bidding experience
  • Previous experience creating technical documentation or training
