Job Description

Responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of the quality assurance program for SQEX products to ensure that product functionality and game quality standards are adhered to and delivered to the customer. Assists with development and oversight of testing plans and procedures, project parameters, budgets, ethics, ratings, legal checks and ensures an efficient departmental organizational structure.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assists QA management with any ethics, ratings, legal related checks.
  • Assists QA management in determining final decision on complex rating issues considering such items as legal or trademark infringements, copyright issues, or text appropriateness.
  • Acquire knowledge related to the ESRB submission process and assist QA management with ratings submissions as needed.
  • Ensures timely and quality responses to SQEX requests by monitoring communication such as e-mails. Follows up accordingly and provides staff assistance.
  • Receives budgets for upcoming projects and helps to assign manpower costs, timelines, and other expenditures.
  • Helps recruits, select, develop and train QA staff to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Assists with the maintenance and improvement of various departmental procedures such as the standardization of interviewing and training, functionality testing procedures, bug ranking, and checklists. Assesses procedure viability to determine if it will increase efficiency, accountability, or reliability prior to development and implementation. Receives feedback from SQEX localization department and incorporates feedback as applicable.
  • Take care of daily QA project related tasks in case of absence of other QA management or supervisory staff.
  • And other related duties as required.

Education, Knowledge and Experience

  • Four years of QA experience.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a game testing environment.
  • General knowledge of the gaming market and game play.
  • Knowledge of the entertainment software industry.

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, see, and move around the facilities. This would require the ability to lift files/boxes, open filing cabinets, file, bend, twist, stand on stool as necessary. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
