Job Title: Localisation Team Assistant (Japanese and Other Languages)

Department: Research and Localisation

Location: Remote or Sports Interactive, Here East, London

Reporting to: Head of Research and Localisation

Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of Research and Localisation, the successful candidate will be part of the team responsible for localisation of the studio’s various games and will focus on co-ordinating the localisation of games primarily for the Japanese speaking market and other markets. Co-ordinate the introduction of Japanese to our games working with the SI Localisation Projects manager and Head of Localisation to bring Japanese to our games so Japanese speaking users can enjoy the same experience as English users.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Manage freelance Japanese translators
  • Source and assess new Japanese translators
  • Liaise with localisation agencies
  • Develop and maintain glossaries for Japanese
  • Train translators on tools and localisation processes
  • Triage, assign and process localisation related bug reports in Helix bug management software
  • Write, maintain and schedule test plans and checklists
  • Provide daily scrum updates
  • Work closely with producers of the studio’s various games
  • Work closely with SEGA Localisation QA department
  • Provide customer support via community forums
  • Work closely with localisation team to immediately rectify critical issues
  • Contribute to hands-on testing efforts

Requirements

  • Mother tongue Japanese
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Excellent writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar skills in both Japanese and English
  • Good knowledge of Football Manager and football
  • Interest in localisation and language
  • Interest in personal development of knowledge and skills in this area
  • Commitment to quality
