As a brand storyteller, this position will turn business and revenue needs into compelling marketing and sponsorship solutions. Your ability to creatively develop strategic client opportunities as well as manage multiple, simultaneous projects will be invaluable.

  • Director, Rights Holder Development is a member of the U.S. Commercial Sales and Business Development team. This role will create marketing partnership solutions for the esports division to achieve client needs and generate revenue on behalf of SPORTFIVE. The candidate will support the broader team in achieving the successful marketing and sponsorship positioning of esports and gaming products/services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key member of the US Commercial team with a primary focus on developing client-friendly marketing opportunities across SPORTFIVEโ€™s esports and gaming rights holder clients - these include publishers, leagues, teams and jewel events.
  • Work with Head of Esports/Gaming (Americas) to drive new business for the agency โ€“ with an emphasis on endemic rightsholders seeking commercial representation, and brand/traditional sports and entertainment rightsholders looking for support in their esports/gaming marketing needs
  • Work closely with SPORTFIVE esports clients โ€“ including Riot Games, T1 Entertainment and Sports, and Immortals Gaming Club (IGC) โ€“ and lead all brand ideation and management/activation needs to ensure that our clients are well-positioned for revenue opportunities.
  • Work with the US Commercial team, SPORTFIVE esports subject matter experts and our expansive global creative network, to develop our esports strategy and positioning.
  • Develop sponsorship proposals using research, analytics, and partnership marketing solution best practices
  • Work with internal stakeholders to support thought leadership for and promotion of SPORTFIVE esports business unit growth.
  • Serve as the primary thought-leader for all globally relevant projects, as assigned by the Head of Esports/Gaming (Americas)
  • Partner with SPORTFIVE international territories and subsidiary agencies to work collaboratively on relevant projects
  • Lead the proposal process with creative designers and directors

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A college degree in a marketing, communications or creative-related field
  • 5+ years of esports-specific or relevant property and/or agency experience, creating and managing sponsorship marketing platforms and client solutions
  • Track record of working closely with key sales/business development stakeholders to develop client-friendly, sellable strategies (including branded content activation concepts)
  • Understanding of all social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube) including emerging platforms
  • Demonstrated experience in developing cutting-edge sponsorship marketing campaigns with brands and endorsers, preferably in sports and entertainment.
  • Ability to conceptualize compelling creative concepts within brand standards.
  • Possess a working knowledge of media and content development
  • Extensive project management and organizational skills
  • Highly visual approach with a knack for storytelling and creativity. PowerPoint fluency is a must.
  • Understanding of research and effective uses of consumer insights
  • Follow the latest trends, best practices, and partnership asses in the sports and entertainment industry โ€“ including, but not limited to all media forms, intellectual property development, activation, research, and consumer insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities
  • Self-starter and able to work independently
